About Jon

Jonathan (he is also known as Jon or JJ) was born in 1975 in London. He attended three primary schools,  and one secondary school where he obtained four GCSE's. He left sixth form early with no qualifications and entered the labour market. He later returned to University as a mature student and obtained a BA in Sociology and Psychology and a MA in Sociology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Associate of the Institute of Leadership. He is currently studying a level five course in Leadership and Management certified by the Chartered Management Institute

He has had an expansive career primarily in management within the hospitability sector. He has also worked in sales, mental health support work, Information Technology Support, elderly care, and currently as a Civil Servant in management.

Jonathan was diagnosed with Autism in 2020 and later diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive type) in 2025. This blog will document his lived experience across his lifespan as someone who was undiagnosed neurodivergent and later as he explores the process of unmasking and finding his place and his peace.
